Abstract :
In this study, a single channel wireless EEG acquisition system is developed for biomedical instrumentation. This system is divided into two parts: analog front end circuit and a digital processing circuit. The analog part includes a protection circuitry, preamplifier, filters, programmable gain amplifier and DRL circuit. Simulation results of this part have shown a low noise level of about 16nV√Hz. The digital processing part is composed of the microcontroller PIC 18F252, an LCD and a wireless communication XBee module (T/R: transmitter and receiver). The microcontroller is used to convert the analog signal into a digital one, display the results on an LCD and send them to the XBee transmitter via an RS232 serial port. The XBee T/R modules commutate wirelessly between the PC via USB port and the RS232 serial port in order to have a mobile EEG data acquisition system.
