Abstract
There is considerable interest in using wireless and mobile technologies in patient monitoring in diverse environments particularly in hospitals and nursing homes. There is growing research interest in determining how these wireless technologies could be applied for patient monitoring and notification. A hierarchical architecture for health monitoring using Intelligent Agents has already been published by one of the authors of this paper. We now propose in this paper, an intelligent agent based technique for monitoring the health of patients and notifying the same to the concerned hospital personnel. We have considered the physiological parameter viz., the body temperature monitoring as an example for our implementation. The implementation has been done using JADE-LEAP agent development kit.
