Abstract :
The shortage of oil and gas supplies as well as the ever stringent CO2 emissions regulations have given rise to the concept of the seamless integration of renewable energies into the electrical supply system. As such, there is a need to develop a total system concept that takes into consideration all the different generation types and the network as a whole. In doing so, the transmission and distribution network must be investigated separately and in interaction with each other. Further research is necessary to address the many challenges arising from combining these new energy sources
