Study on large-scale sporting events and improving cities´ soft cultural power

Large-scale sporting events are of far reaching importance to the improvement of city culture, and there are totally 5 factors influencing the improvement of cities´ soft cultural power by holding large-scale sporting events. In the present thesis the author analyzes the primal problems in the course of improving cities´ soft cultural power through holding large-scale sporting events, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for these problems: sporting events with distinctive characteristics and cultural connotation should be held according to a city´s actual condition; all sorts of cultural constructions of the holding city should be promoted by making use of the turning point of holding the large-scale sporting events; the propaganda and dissemination of sportsmanship and knowledge should be paid enough attention to, and they should be banded together with the local folk way, public morality and cultural tradition; a series of sports culture activities related to the theme of the large-scale sporting event should be carried out; high-quality talents concerning large-scale sporting events should be fostered through various means.
