Abstract
Antenna is one of the key factors in RFID systems. The performance of the reader / tag antennas shows significant effect on the reading range and detection accuracy of an RFID system. Since RFID systems operate at frequencies varying from low frequency (LF) to microwave frequencies (MWF), the RFID antenna designs are with distinct requirements. In this paper, we address the antenna design considerations for the latest RFID applications. Several antennas are exemplified to show the recently developed technologies for RFID antenna designs in specific RFID applications.
