Abstract :
Evolving Agents or EVOGENTS for short is an undergraduate research thesis that demonstrates an alternative approach of applying evolutionary concepts on artificial intelligence. EVOGENTS are agents that live in a virtual world and their goal is to be able to survive. These agents are programmed with artificial intelligence and the ability to adapt in order for them to be able to handle unanticipated situations. This paper discusses the EVOGENTS system, the algorithms used, and presents the experiment results on the EVOGENTS ability to adapt on different environments.
