Abstract :
Summary form only given. Conducting columns of paramagnetic particles form in an adhesive epoxy in the presence of a magnetic field. This phenomenon is used to produce an anisotropic conducting adhesive that can replace solder in certain applications. We present experimental observations of the formation of these columns, their shape and their number density. In particular we will consider why the density of columns does not increase in step with the fill density of particles
