Abstract :
This paper presents a new control technique of low-cost and high performance for a single switch zero voltage switching (ZVS) inverter with a dimming control. This paper reviews the cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) characteristics and the various inverter topologies for the CCFL and introduces a new simple E-class inverter circuit topology and its control technique. The proposed controller can ensure ZVS operation under most operating conditions and simply perform the dimming control. It is shown through experimental results that the controller of the proposed system has good performance for the LCD backlight inverter operation
