Abstract :
This paper analyzed the process of logistics morphology evolution and the development of logistics industry. It pointed out that the existence of economies of scale in logistics has propelled this process. Considering the nature of multi-function and network product of logistics activities, it defined the economies of scale in logistics industry and inquired their existing patterns. It qualitatively analyzed the internal and the external supporting conditions of economies of scale in logistics which push ahead the development of logistics. The internal supporting conditions include product technology, capital and organization ability; The external supporting conditions include the scale of market demand, the scope of market and the efficiency of market transaction. The quantitative study on scale economy of logistics will be of theoretical and practical significance to logistics enterprises and government agencies, it put forward some topics for future research.
