Abstract :
Finite element models using an interactive moving node template have been developed with cutting of the virtual object controlled by an instrumented cutting tool held in the user´s hand. Preliminary results with 2-D models have demonstrated the feasibility of developing interactive surgical simulation of cutting for the VR environment
