Abstract
This paper describes a thermoelectric waveguide power sensor for the frequency range 75 GHz to 110 GHz which can be calibrated in a waveguide microcalorimeter. The sensor can be used as a transfer standard to provide traceablity for high frequency power calibrations. The paper summarizes the sensor design and the principle of calorimeter calibration by introducing a novel measuring quantity, referred to as generalized efficiency of the transfer standard. First results of the calorimeter measurements and the sensor performance are given.
