Abstract :
This paper aims at presenting an analysis of the telecommunication services diffusion process in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Also to investigate diffusion dynamics and to analyze complementarity and competition trends among technologies. To identify the most important factors associated with Telecommunication services diffusion, determinants and their influences in the diffusion among the CIS countries. The Telecommunication services in this analysis include: Internet, mobile cellular phone and fixed telephone services. Present study assigns Internet service as well as fixed telephone and mobile phone service to the category of telecommunications services by incorporating the effects of the Internet in the telecommunications service market. In this paper we apply modified diffusion models to telecommunication growth in CIS countries. Empirical analysis presents - telecommunication services in CIS are mostly complementary to each other. Analyses of estimation results and factors associated with ICT diffusion dynamism can play significant role to provide policy recommendations for these countries and for other developing countries to achieve the desired pervasiveness of the information communication technologies.
