Abstract
Existing and proposed solutions to the problem of using bit level processor arrays to execute conventional programs for sequential machines are described and discussed. An existing software package capable of taking a program expressed in a conventional sequential language and mapping it into a code executable by the processor array reconfiguration algorithm for bit-level arrays (RAB) is described in detail. Experience with its use is reported. A new planned version of RAB is briefly described with emphasis on the differences with respect to RAB and how it can incorporate lessons learned with RAB
