Abstract :
To cope with new phenomena in drive applications, e.g. bearing currents, new space vector based modulation principles have been proposed over the last few years. Most of them operate with three space vectors, which are placed sequentially within the pulse period. The resulting pulse pattern is characterised by two or more switching operations, occurring at the same time. However, this simultaneous switching is disturbed by dead times. This paper gives an overview over possible dead time effects in inverter fed drive applications and shows an effective compensation by using sgn(i)-functions and Kalman-filter
