Abstract :
The paper presents a performance analysis of standing alone asynchronous machines operating together with power converters for feeding passive electrical networks. The theoretical analysis requires the solution of a system of nonlinear differential equations. The paper shows how this can be obtained when reference is made to steady-state conditions with both ideal PWM and square wave operations. Results of digital simulations for start-up operations are also given and they are validated by experimental tests
