Abstract :
In this work a new approach is presented for evaluating the nonlinear coupling relations of monitoring multi-points on bridge health monitoring. Two different information-theoretic (IT) measures, the time-delayed mutual information and the time-delayed transfer entropy, are used to provide a measure of the coupling between monitoring points. Among three points for monitoring of two sections for deflection monitoring of Mashangxi Bridge over Yangtze River is tested and analyzed in this article. The test result verifies the advantages of the method raised in this article. Among the points for monitoring in same one section presents better non-linear coupling than other different points. Meanwhile the index of time-delayed sensitivity raised in the article for above 3 points varies from 0.02 as maximum to 0.0002 as minimum, which provides the method of division for multi-points on bridge health monitoring system and the scheme of arrangement for these points. This work is wealthy, in engineering practices, of the evaluation of bridge health monitoring.
