Abstract :
This paper focuses on the analytical process control system installed on the new No.5 electrolytic tinplating line (ETL) at British Steel Tinplate´s Trostre Works, Llanelli, South Wales. The objective of the APC system is to provide automatic solution sampling to achieve online real-time analysis and closed-loop control of the process solutions used on the No.5 ETL. The computer controlled industrial robot forms the hub and nerve centre of the APC system
