Abstract
This article presents a new algorithm for the automatic detection and pattern quantification of the T wave. The principal novelty lies in the utilization of a mathematical model from the ECG segment in which the T wave is located, as a phase prior to its detection and characterization. The results of the validation of the algorithm on 11 records from the QT database are also presented. The results show that the algorithm fulfills the criteria of the CSE (STD<30.6 ms). Furthermore the cardiologist 1-algorithm differences are smaller that those observed between cardiologist 1-cardiologist 2, appearing in the same database
