Abstract
During last several years we have studied selected techniques for quality enhancement of security images. The first part of paper demonstrates selected results of image enhancement oriented to the improvement of identification threshold. We have tested the impact of image sharpening algorithms on the display readability in presence of noise. The trade-off between the edge-enhancing and noise treatment is discussed and experimental results are presented.
