Abstract :
This paper proposes a method and an algorithm for determining the power flows of industrial electrical networks that contain induction motors. The paper describes the iterative algorithm for calculating the unbalanced power flow, an algorithm involving two steps: determination of slip and impedance and determination of the sequence voltages and currents within the network. The calculation of the induction motors power flow takes in consideration the torque-speed characteristic of the working machine involved. An industrial network containing an unbalanced receiver and two induction motors is presented. An analysis is made of the influence of the short circuit impedance power supply on the unbalanced power flow and conclusions are drawn about the presented methodology.
