Abstract :
The intense relativistic beam propagation through drift tubes filled with background plasma is investigated. The beginning portion of the electron beam pulse creates an ion channel in drift tubs. The self-consistent differential equations, which describe the laminar-flow equilibria state in magnetically focused relativistic beams with ion channel, are presented. By solving these equations, the limiting current and the externally applied magnetic field can be obtained in solid beams and hollow beams
