Abstract :
Using the 3D electromagnetic particle-in-cell (PIC) code MAFIA, the simulation of the electronic trajectory in electron gun with PPM stack could be carried out. A 3D electron optics model has been built, which includes a electron gun, transit area and a PPM stack. All components of the model are simulated in three dimensions, allowing the ripple and lamination of the beam in the TWT to be investigated. The 3D TWT electron beam characteristics such as waist position and radius are compared for the two cases with and without the present of the PPM magnetic fields
