Abstract :
In this paper, we study the techniques to obtain wider bandwidth using uniplanar EBG power plane for simultaneous switching noise (SSN) mitigation and propose localized or periodic spiral-shaped EBG structures which can effectively suppress the SSN when the power plane drives high-speed ICs. The proposed structures have wider stopband bandwidth than conventional EBG structures, from 0.15 GHz to more than 6 GHz.
