Abstract :
Gyro-TWT is becoming the most attractive source in the millimeter wave range for the capability of high power and broad bandwidth, and is applied in radar and communication systems broadly. Correspondingly, the research of gyro-TWT has made significant progress both experimentally and theoretically in recent years. In this paper, the design of a 16 GHz Gyro-TWT for detecting radar is presented. The amplifier operates in the low-loss TE01 mode with a 75kV, 5 A electron beam, simulations show a saturate gain of 45 dB with a peak output power of 150kW and the bandwidth of 1.8GHz
