A second generation drive for industrial applications

This paper examines the new technology of a second generation integrated AC induction motor drive consisting of a software-implemented frequency converter and induction motor within the physical envelope of an AC motor. It exhibits comparable performance to stand-alone motor and inverter combinations in both constant torque and variable torque applications.
