Abstract
A new improved boost topology is proposed to reduce the input current ripple. The new topology is realized by adding an extra LC circuit with coupled inductors to the conventional boost topology. The operating principle and the small-signal characteristics are analyzed. Comparisons are made between the proposed improved topology and the conventional boost topology. An experimental converter has been built and tested to verify the theoretical analysis
