  • Abstract
    In this paper, the design process of a multiple-stroke electromagnetic digital actuators array is presented. The active part of the designed array is composed of 4 × 4 elementary actuators including two types of actuators with two different strokes. The array is then able to realize complex actions by combining two types of elementary actions. The paper focuses on the design process of the array which is based on the static modeling of the array. Four operating criteria have been defined to ensure the theoretical functioning of the array.
