Abstract :
The smart grid is the convergence of power systems and information and communication technology (ICT). Its goals are the creation of new businesses and the reduction of carbon emissions. For the world´s first demonstration of the smart grid, a government-wide demonstration testbed was run on Gujwa-eup, Jeju Island, and it has already been demonstrated in five fields. Various information and communication systems have been built on the real-time distribution of information. TOC plays a role in monitoring and control integration. The distribution of system information uses the common information model (CIM) and the SOAP/XML protocol, as defined in IEC61970/61968, which is the international standard to ensure interoperability. The smart grid was successfully built by a system architecture in which power-oriented and information and communication converge. In this paper, the interoperability, the development and usage of the system architecture, and the CIM are studied as key subjects. In the future, we expect that these technologies will be used in Korea´s domestic smart grid spread projects and that it will enable successful businesses that comply with international standards and secure interoperability.
