Abstract :
A new filtering approach is introduced in this paper. The proposed multichannel filter can be used to remove impulsive noise and other impairments from colour TV signals. Due to its inherent parallel structure and high regularity, the new filter is perfectly suitable for real time implementation and it can be implemented using array processors on VLSI hardware. With the advent of the all-digital TV system, such a filter can lead to systems which would retain accurate image reproduction fidelity despite any unforeseen transmission developments. Simulation results indicate that the new filter offers some flexibility and has excellent performance
