Abstract :
In this paper, basing on a particle in ceil (PIC) simulation code, the beam-wave interaction of a Ka-band complex cavity gyrotron with gradual transition is studied. The effects of cavity dimension, electron beam parameter and operating magnetic field on the electron efficiency, output power and operating stability are analyzed. The results show that an output power of 716kW, a high interaction efficiency of 60.2% and good stability are predicted at 33.4GHz for the complex cavity gyrotron driven by a 70kV, 17A electron beam with a pitch angle of 1.5
