  • Abstract
Unique sets of waveguide tools have been designed and implemented into clinical practice. These waveguide tools allow increasing the efficacy of a low-frequency ultrasonic (LFUS) treatment for body wounds and cavities at the expense of ensuring maximum possible energy input into the LFUS treated liquid medium by means of producing with a radiating end of an operating section of the waveguide tool a developed volume of a cavitational liquid area simultaneously interacting with distal and side sites of infection nidus wound tissues. The above mentioned effect is attained due to the design of a radiating end of an operative section that is a kind of a polyhedron, e.g. a wedge, a pyramid, a tetrahedron, their each edge being a radiating element.
