Abstract
In this paper we outline the modeling of the lateral field excitation of essentially thickness shear modes in contoured piezoelectric resonators made from thin plates of any orientation. Modeling the mutual coupling between acoustics and electrostatic problems in piezoelectric structures can be straightforwardly achieved by means of a reciprocity principle
