Abstract :
This paper presents a novel design for the implementation of a patch antenna over a high impedance wire (HIW). The proposed configuration enhances the efficiency of the patch antenna to 98% together with size reduction of 75%. The performance of the patch antenna over HIW has been analyzed using both electromagnetic and circuit models. Simulated investigations have been verified by fabrication and measurements at 3.2 GHz.
