Abstract
Fivefold decrease of RMS jitter of 1 pps pulse from GPS receiver after SA switch-off and relatively short period required to filter it out has enabled the construction of GPS synchronized frequency sources of parameters almost order of magnitude better than with SA. At present state of the art, quartz resonator technology limit parameters of GPS synchronized quartz frequency source are 10-11 medium (over 1000 s) and 4.10-13 long term (over 24 hours) frequency stability. To considerably improve these parameters, a quartz oscillator should be constructed with aging below 5.10-12 per day and temperature variations less than 1.10-11 over 0-50degC temperature range
