Abstract :
It has been shown that the stability and tuning properties of thermocompensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) can be considerably improved by using digital methods of compensation. Different methods are compared. A simple method of piecewise linear interpolation making it possible to markedly reduce memory volume is presented. Particular attention is paid to the spectral characteristics of the output signal. The proposed method, called statistical, can be applied to different types of TXO. A one-chip LCI miniature DTXO is described. A second oscillator using this method is a precision one with an output frequency of 100 MHz. It features the use of a double mode oscillator and a frequency synthesizer. Detailed technical data on the oscillators and test results are given
