Abstract :
Industrial ecology is a new field of environmental studies. It is based on industrial sustainability. Firstly, we discuss the industrial situation in Vietnam because our industrial sustainability is not very good. We assess various types of industries, what they release and their effects to the environment. Then, we show government policies for protecting the damaged environment. After an extensive discussion of the concept of industrial ecology in Vietnam, the report describes and illustrates the results of a field study on Vietnamese companies experiencing Environmental Management Systems, Life Cycle Assessment, Eco-Labeling and so on. Vietnamese companies are considering whether to take on these standards and the possible resulting inter-organizational co-operation
