  • Abstract
An investigation on the feasibility of a biosensor based on split ring resonator (SRR) is reported in this paper. A two-pair SRR array is used for the biosensor device. The compact SRR composite is excited by a microstrip transmission line which can generate the quasi-TEM mode. The device showed sensitivity to the biosensing parameters of S21 resonant frequency and loaded Q values, due to the coupling of nano-size biomaterials. The feasibility of and the applications for a biosensor based on based on SRRs are also briefly discussed.
