Abstract
Waste recycling has been proposed due to limited waste disposal sites in Japan. At first, melting technology has been applied in which melted slag was used for construction material such as road materials. As the use of melted slag was limited because of its physical strength and other properties, mixing slag with natural stones and other resource materials was considered. Therefore, the crystallization technology was developed, in which melted slag was converted into natural stone-like products. When applying crystallized slag as a resource material for exterior tiles, crystallized slag was found to be applicable for tiles at 50-60% mixing ratio. The tiles made with waste melting and crystallized slag can be supplied as normal tiles
