Abstract :
Large-scale wireless sensor networks are composed of hundreds or thousands of autonomous sensor nodes. How to manage wireless sensor networks effectively is a big challenge. This paper presents a hierarchical management architecture for wireless sensor networks. In contrast to previous management architecture on wired networks and wireless ad-hoc networks, this architecture is based on wireless sensor networks´ two distinct features: centralization and task orientation. Based on such architecture, the paper also develops a lightweight, task-oriented clustering algorithm to reduce the granularity of wireless sensor networks. The simulation demonstrates its effectiveness in wireless sensor network based on energy analysis
