Abstract
A left-handed transmission line composed of two waveguides with periodic stubs is proposed. Since two waveguides piled has symmetry, the stubs can be shortened and the guided modes propagate with small loss. Using the frequency characteristic of stub impedance, the transmission line can be designed to have the phase constant changing from negative to positive value continuously. It is used for leaky-wave antenna whose beam can be scanned from 67 to 125 deg.
