Abstract :
In this paper, we present an expert system, called SE_BNF, which is dedicated to the diagnosis of the defaults of an iron core coil. The defaults studied are the reduction of the turns´ number and turn-to-turn short-circuit, which are important to be detected before the coil working. Simulations were carried out to determine the rules being implemented in the knowledge base of the expert system. The developed expert system is implemented by using the expert system shell CLIPS
