Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel backup path reservation method for achieving high capacity in a WDM all-optical network. A set of core routers with wavelength converters configure an overlay network for providing higher shared backup path. The simulation results show that by applying the proposed method, wavelengths are reserved along 15.8% more message transmission routes than path protection
