Abstract :
A joint project is described for the design and implementation of both Tahiti, a distributed language for event programming based on Galton´s logic of occurrence, and Symphora, a run-time kernel providing system services demanded by support for truly event-driven programs. The presentation is divided between a description of the Tahiti language and its supporting run-time kernel Symphora. The focus is on the run-time implications of these language constructs and especially the ability of Tahiti programs to branch on both past and future events, as well as on current (Boolean) states. The operating system support required for realization of the language constructs is considered
