Abstract :
Survivability on WDM networks is a critical issue for network provider to deliver reliable services to the customers. In this paper, we consider the moving failure model which resulted from the user mobility and develop the protection mechanism based on the protection group concept under dynamic traffic condition. The proposed 2-step scheme includes finding the working path tree and exploring of capacity sufficient protection cycles which covers the segments within the working tree. By obeying the node-disjoint rule in group formation phase, the connections are protected against node or link failure occurred in the network. The performance parameters to be observed in conducted simulations include the SRWA speed, acceptance ratio and capacity utilization compared with ILP optimization
