Abstract :
In this paper, a set of field data is used to show that proper voltage control of electric water heaters (EWHs) during peak-demand hours can reduce aggregate EWH power demand without sacrificing many customers´ comfort level. Also, viable voltage-control implementation methods are proposed. The proposed control methods can be extended to some other thermostatically controlled devices.
