Abstract
This paper describes a new multimode fiber model specifically geared toward system-level analysis. The model numerically solves for the fiber modes as a function of an arbitrary index profile. This is a level detail usually found only in device-level models. Since it is implemented in a general-purpose tool, it is extremely flexible and capable of analyzing numerous system-level metrics.
