Abstract
As one of the major driving forces in the area of Si integrated circuits, memories (i.e. DRAM, SRAM & nonvolatile memories) have always been far less specialized in respect to their application areas than most logic circuits. Since they are commodity products, they can be found in different applications, as diverse as high-speed networking systems and standard entertainment products. Looking further out into the future, we can currently see three major trends in all of the three above-mentioned areas of memories.
