Abstract
The mechanisms and regularities of plastic deformation and continuity disturbance in aluminium alloy specimens under cyclic loading have been investigated. It has been revealed that the processes of plastic deformation and continuity disturbance develop at different structural levels with a sequential rise of their scale that determines the multi-stage pattern of fatigue failure. It has been shown that the processes of fatigue failure develop in an interrelated manner and exhibit relay patterns
