Abstract :
The method proposed by Nour-Eddine (1986) allows the calculation of the complex permittivity /spl epsiv/*=/spl epsiv/U+j/spl epsiv/" of a sample measuring the complex reflection coefficient /spl Gamma/**=|/spl Gamma/|/spl ang//spl theta/ of the measurement cell. The proposed improvement introduces a resonance based analysis which permits the calculation of the complex permittivity by measuring only the magnitude of the reflection coefficient |/spl Gamma/|.
