Abstract :
New caries diagnostic procedures for early caries detection are presented. Optical methods such as near-IR transillumination and optical coherence tomography (OCT) with near-IR light are introduced. These techniques enable imaging and detection of early caries lesions before they have spread extensively into the underlying dentin.
